Local artists receive Arrowhead Regional Arts Council grants


Three Cook County artists were awarded grants from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council on November 15, 2018.

Career Development Grant

. Corrie Steckelberg of Hovland was awarded a $2,340 Career Development Grant to support an artist-in-residency opportunity and creation of time-lapse videos of the artistic process. . Marybeth Garmoe of Grand Marais was awarded a $3,000 Career Development Grant to develop, produce and market artistic broom accessories including handmade dustpans and hooks.

Technology/ Equipment Grant

. Greg Mueller of Lutsen was awarded a $1,560 Technology/Equipment Grant to support the purchase of an abrasive miter cut chop saw to use with creating large, outdoor sculptures.

The Arrowhead Regional Arts Council is a regional nonprofit that has been encouraging local arts development in northeastern Minnesota through arts funding and services for over 35 years.
