Mary LaBerge, local artist, shared her skills and talents with Birch Grove Community School’s K-5 students on a crisp September day!
Four different student groups trekked out to the woods throughout the day to find easels set up, blank, white canvases shining in the sun, paints at the ready, and Mary LaBerge smiling and eager to start teaching. Mary took students step by step through blending acrylic paints to make a beautiful sky and then a water scene. Then students added a land mass with trees and birds and finished with their initials in the corner of their masterpiece!
Student paintings will be rotated on display in the school library throughout the year. Birch Grove Community School thanks Mary LaBerge and plans for this to be an annual fall event for K-5!
