Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation helps region flourish

The Cook County Historical Society would like to express its appreciation to the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation’s support of local nonprofits. Both the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery and the Historical Museum have benefited from grants provided by the foundation in the last few years.

The JHP was able to purchase a new electric heating system that has cut heating bills in half and, more recently, to add an archival-quality storage facility for housing its permanent art collections along with the collections of exhibiting artists.

The Museum will be using grant funds to create a secure and interesting display for the Grand Marais lighthouse’s Fresnel lens.

The foundation’s support of these and other important projects is a testament to their dedication to helping the communities of our region flourish.
