Lloyd Alm Norman, 86, of Hovland, died June 22, 2014.
He was born to the late Nels and Gudrun Norman, October 7, 1927 in Hovland.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy from September 25, 1945 to September 27, 1948 where he garnered the World War II American Area Campaign Medal.
He married the late Marcella Konvalin in 1950.
Lloyd was an able seaman aboard ocean freighters and Great Lakes ore carriers where he rose to 3rd Mate on U.S. Steel Great Lakes ore carriers.
He ran his own business called “Lloyd’s Wilderness Log Homes.”
Lloyd is survived by four children: Greg Norman of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Rosanne and Gary Norman of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Grant Norman of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren and his sister Marie Kubat, of Omaha, Nebraska.
A service will be held for Lloyd at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hovland. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Trinity Lutheran.
