Janet Davison Thayer, a retired high school mathematics teacher, died at home in Somerset, WI on July 21, 2011. She was 92 and was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Robert Lyman Thayer.
She was employed at Perkiomen Valley High School, in Collegeville, PA for 28 years. She graduated from Trenton State College with a B.S. and received her master’s degree at West Chester State College in Pennsylvania.
She was a founding member of the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Collegeville, PA. Prior to moving to Wisconsin in 2007, she resided at Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA, where she was active in the choir and volunteered in many areas of the facility.
She was born in Perrineville, NJ, the daughter of the late Ezekial Davison and Rebecca Eleanor MacDonald. Surviving are her sister, Kathryn E. Gater of Wellington, FL, four children, Leslie S. Hyatt III of Somerset, WI, Eleanor M. Hyatt of Hopkins, MN, Kathryn A. Hyatt of Brooklyn, NY and Marcia J. Hyatt of Lutsen, MN, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton Township, NJ on Friday, October 14, at 2 p.m.
