Lives Remembered





Rosemary Jensen (Binesiquay “Thunderbird Woman”), 56, of Grand Portage, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospice.

She is of the Eagle Clan. She was born on July 26, 1952 to Francis John “Jack” and Theresa (Morrison) Morrin in Duluth.

Rosemary worked at the Grand Portage Education Office as an Educational Specialist. She enjoyed playing bingo and was active with several American Indian Clubs.

She was an enrolled member of Grand Portage Band of Anishinabeg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bridget Jensen; a sister, Lisa Morrin and a brother, Anthony Morrin.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Hill of Palo, MN; Cynthia Hill of Virginia, MN; Charlotte (Bruce) Kuyava of Duluth; Rachel (Robert) Hering of Superior, WI; and Nicole Jensen of Monticello, MN; sister Marie Morrin of Grand Portage; two brothers, John Morrin and Tom Morrin both of Grand Portage; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Traditional Ceremony was held on Monday, July 27, 2009 in the Grand Portage Community Center. Spiritual Leader Sam Musqua conducted the service. Burial in the Grand Portage Cemetery.
