Laurel Mary Nunstedt,
age 60, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
Laurel retired from a career as an engineer with General Motors, working in Janesville, WI, Bowling Green, KY, and retiring from the Fort Wayne, IN plant.
Laurel fought a long and valiant battle against the ravages of cancer and remained always grateful for the fine treatments she received from caring doctors and staff.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Nunstedt.
She is survived by her father, Carl Nunstedt, and her sisters Linda Nelson and Carol Backlund, nephews Jeff Backlund and J. C. Toftey, Vivian and Dennis Verburg, whom she considered family, Cathy and Bonnie, her GM buddies, dear friend Jeannie Campbell, and special pet Lexor.
She was much loved by many friends who treasured her sweet gentle nature and delighted in many times spent in her company.
A graveside service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Maple Hill Cemetery, in her beloved home town of Grand Marais. Officiating clergy were Rev. Mark Ditmanson and Dr. William R. Goodman Jr.
