Lives Remembered





 

 

Jeffrey Allan Hanson, 53, of Grand Marais died Sunday, October 18, 2009. Jeff was born August 27, 1956 to Trygve and MaryAnn (Hill) Hanson in Two Harbors.

Jeff graduated from Cook County High School in 1974 and attended the University of Minnesota. Most of his life was spent living in Grand Marais. He had a successful logging business and later became a building contractor. He was an accomplished and creative craftsman and was a self taught “Jack of All Trades.”

Jeff enjoyed the woods and the lakes of Cook County, especially the McFarland Lake area where he used his creative skills to build a cabin that he and his family enjoyed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, biking, hiking, cooking, curling and golfing, even achieving a “Hole in One.” He served a term as the president of the Cook County Curling Club. Jeff’s life was at its best when he shared these activities with his wife Teresa and daughter Tarin.

Jeff is survived by Teresa and Tarin; father Trygve; brothers Leslie, Kelly and sister Shelly, (Michael) Matteuzzi; nieces Lesley and Kristen and nephew Brad. He was preceded in death by his mother, MaryAnn.

Jeff will always be deeply cherished by those who knew him well and understood his quiet ways.
