It’s “radio on a stick”! WTIP North Shore Community Radio will broadcast live for the first time from the Minnesota State Fair, Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
WTIP will offer special programming, information and entertainment throughout the day, including interviews on the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, Joel Karsten on tending a straw bale garden, how to travel in a mini RV camper, and lots more state fair-related guests and topics.
Hosts Bob Carter, Ann Possis, Sherrie Lindskog, Julie Carlson, Sue Maijala and Beth Olson, as well as program director Matthew Brown and station manager Deb Benedict, are scheduled to be on air.
Visit Cook County Director Linda Kratt and her team are providing support and will be on hand to meet and greet fairgoers with information about Cook County.
Business support for WTIP’s state fair broadcast has been provided by Big Bear Lodge, Sivertson Gallery, Tuscarora Lodge and Canoe Outfitters, Hungry Jack Outfitters, Bluefin Bay, Grand Marais Art Colony, Voyageur Brewing, North House Folk School, Art House B & B and Visit Cook County.
If you’re at the fair, stop by the Education Building, along Snelling Avenue and Cosgrove Street, or if you’re in Cook County, listen and join us “on the radio at the fair”!
WTIP is a member of Ampers (Association of Minnesota Public and Educational Radio Stations), which is hosting a booth for the very first time. An Ampers radio station will broadcast each day from the Ampers booth.
