Mike Littfin, a member of the Arrowhead Cooperative, Inc. in Lutsen, was recently elected to serve on the Great River Energy 24-member board of directors. That makes Littfin two for two in elections. He was recently reelected to serve on the Arrowhead Electric Cooperative board.
The election was held at the Great River Energy June 6 annual meeting.
In other announcements at the meeting, Great River Chief Executive Officer David Saggau announced that Great River had achieved Minnesota’s renewable energy standard of 25 percent renewable electricity production in 2017, eight years ahead of the state’s schedule while also recording near record margins and returning $6 million to its members.
Saggau stated Great River’s goal was to achieve 50 percent renewable energy by 2030.
