Lions and Lionesses “rock” the Fair

The Cook County Fair was full of fun for visiting children. The Grand Marais Lioness Club added to the action with a Lions and Lioness Club rock painting activity. Theyoung artists were creative and imaginative with a flair for color.

All of the children who participated received a Walt Mianowski—“Duffer the clown”—balloon and a colorful sticker donated by the North Shore Federal Credit Union.

“We look forward to the county fair next year and hope to have more activities for children. We hope to see more community members attending,” said Lioness Sandra Hyne.

Theblue ribbon winners of the rock painting contest at the Cook County Fair are Chase Gwash, Grand Marais; Marisa Kingsbury, Eagan; and Sela Backstrom, Grand Marais.

Also named “super rock painters” were Signe Jones of Duluth and Colton Furlong of Grand Marais.
