Library Invites Community to Get Crafty with Mary Mulari’s Take and Make Kit

This March, Grand Marais Public Library is on a mission to distribute 30 of Arrowhead Library System’s Make Your Own Treasure Bag Take and Make Kits. Although the kits will be available to pick up March 15 – 31, Cook County community members of all ages are welcome to contact the library now to get on the recipient’s list, which will close once all 30 kits are claimed.

The Make Your Own Treasure Bag project was designed by Mary Mulari, the nationally recognized sewing enthusiast who, in prior years, brought Legacy programs such as Vintage & New Age Aprons and Recycle, Repurpose, and Restyle to the Grand Marais Public Library. Said Library Director Amanda St. John, “Mary is a huge hit every time she comes to Cook County, and she’s so eager to encourage anyone to sew. The treasure bag project could be the beginning of your new hobby.

Each Treasure Bag kit includes fabric, supplies, and instructions to create one felt treasure bag. Sew it by hand or by machine: store gifts, candy, a baseball, or other treasures in the easy-to-sew bag.
