Library Friends will be at the Arts Festival this year

y

Since Library Friends received some

r

especially nice art and art-related books n

this year, we felt it made sense to bring d

them before a group that could truly

appreciate them. Naturally, we thought of

d

the Art Colony’s Arts Festival. So Library

h

Friends and these fine books will be for

r

sale at the Arts Festival on Saturday, July

10. We’ll be located in the Anna Johnson Room of the Johnson Heritage Post from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We invite all those attending the Arts Festival to stop by and see what we have to offer. We have books of art instruction, lots of watercolor technique, pastels and drawings. Books with beautiful plates of artists’ work ranging from Van Gogh, Oali, Matisse, Picasso, Miro and O’Keeffe. There are also a few books of photography from such as Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson. The collection also covers art appreciation, art history and a few biographies of artists.

There is a special book by the Art Institute of Chicago, highlighting works from their collection and pairing those works with recipes from Chicago restaurants — something to please both palettes. Also included are books of architecture and interior design plus a few books that introduce art to children. Prices range from as little as $1 to $20.

Also we’ll have information about Library Friends, what we do and how you can help us help all the libraries of Cook County — the public library, the public school library and the three charter school libraries. People will be able to buy or renew their memberships that will be their key to the Members Only Sale at the Annual Used Book Sale during Fisherman’s Picnic in August.

We’ll look forward to seeing you at the JHP on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
