Library Friends plans trunk show





Art quilter and author Claudia Clark Myers will speak to Library Friends of Cook County on Saturday, May 1 about her book A Passion for Piecing.

Art quilter and author Claudia Clark Myers will speak to Library Friends of Cook County on Saturday, May 1 about her book A Passion for Piecing.

Library Friends of Cook County is sponsoring a trunk show with Claudia Clark Myers, an art quilter living in Duluth, on Saturday, May 1. Theevent will be at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at St. John’s Catholic Church, 10 E. 5th St., Grand Marais.

Claudia’s new book, A Passion for Piecing,
will also be available.

Claudia was a costume designer for 27 years for the Baltimore Opera Company, the Minnesota Ballet, A. T. Jones Costumers in Baltimore, and Malabar Costume House in Toronto.

Her Victorian pillow business, Confections, supplied 165 stores throughout the Midwest from 1974 to 1984. For five years, she was an instructor in the theater department at the College of St. Scholastica, teaching costume design and construction. For the past 17 years, quilting has been Claudia’s passion.

In 2006, she was honored to be chosen Minnesota Quilter of the Ye ar.
