The Library Friends of Cook County has received an unprecedented response of books and other materials from the community for the August book sale, which is the annual fundraiser. Because of limited storage space, the Friends can no longer accept the mass (small) paperback books or magazines, effective immediately.
Also, as a reminder, textbooks and Reader’s Digest Condensed books cannot be accepted.
Thanks to the generous donations from the community, the Friends continue to have a successful sale each year.
The organization is hosting a special midwinter sale. Library Friends invites the community to attend a special sale of gardening books on Saturday, March 21 at the Grand Marais Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon.
Library Friends spokesperson Peggy Struck said, “Even though it seems like winter will never end, spring is deep down in the soil waiting for us. Let’s put our minds to work even though our feet are still in the snow.”
