The Library Friends of Cook County announces that it has made media-related grants totaling $6,000 to three Cook County schools and the Grand Marais Public Library.
The grants were made during the LFCC board of directors’ Oct. 9 meeting in response to requests made by the schools and library. The requests for proposals went out earlier to all the county schools and the library.

And, Great Expectations School in Grand Marais received funding for its Read-Aloud Books program.
Money from the grant comes from the LFCC membership along with donations made during activities sponsored by the group.
