Although Moose Madness is sponsored by the Grand Marais Area Tourism Association (GMATA), it isn’t an event just for tourists. Folks who live in Cook County are encouraged to take some time off to enjoy some of the moose activities on Friday – Sunday, October 22 -24.
Head downtown and join the Moose Medallion search. Make a moose kite or listen to moose stories at the Grand Marais Public Library or Drury Lane Books. Pose for a photo with the friendly GMATA moose, Murray.
Many of Grand Marais’ unique gift shops have specials, and kids of all ages have opportunities for fame. Be a winner with your moose limerick or haiku in Highway 61
or submit a cartoon on the mighty moose to the Cook County
News-Herald.
