Lester Andrew Shold
passed away Monday morning, February 2, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Winston- Salem, North Carolina.
Lester was born in Grand Marais and spent much of his life in Duluth. He was 90 years old, the second eldest of 11 children born to Andrew and Freda Shold.
Lester was a World War II veteran and served overseas with the U.S. Army. All who knew and loved him will sadly miss him. He has gone to spend eternity with our Lord and Creator, and we rejoice in that knowledge.
He is survived by three brothers and four sisters; his four children Jonathan Shold of Winston-Salem, N.C., Barbara Shold, Erik Shold, and Susan Lester of Raleigh, N.C., and two grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan Lester. A funeral service with military honors was conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4 at Salem Funeral Home, 120 S. Main St., Winston-Salem, N.C. A private burial will be conducted later at the National Veterans Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C.
