Lee Dallas Stauffer, 87, Falcon Heights, Minnesota, died peacefully at Regions Hospital, on July 21, 2016, with his kids and grandkids loving him through the process.
Lee served as a midshipman in the U.S. Marine Corps ’46-’47 and in the U.S. Naval Reserve ’47-’48. In 1956, he was dean emeritus of the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota.
Lee was a longtime resident of Grand Marais.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Lois.
Lee is survived by his children Karl, (Fabiana), Lisa (Jay), Dane and Kris (Julie), and beloved grandchildren Travis, Robin, Becca and Laura, sister Marcia and many adored in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Lee was a great and generous man. He was quick-witted, patient, a loving father and respected academic administrator. He will be greatly missed.
A more extensive obituary with memorial service information will follow. Memorials preferred to the Lee & Donna Stauffer Scholarship Fund, through the Minnesota Medical Foundation, which supports students pursuing a Master’s of Public Health degree.
