In the February 8 Cook County News-Herald, Brian Larsen wrote that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) plans to collar 52 moose. Why 52 moose? Is that how many collars they have?
Also along with Brian’s article there is a picture of a cow moose that looks to be in real good shape considering the harsh winter and deep snow, etc. It looks like she could be pregnant.
There’s only one thing wrong with this picture—no collar.
The DNR should put pink collars on the girl moose and blue collars on all the big and little boy moose.
I lived in Cook County most of my 79 years and I can’t believe that I knew so little about our moose and their survival.
DNR do you get my message? Leave the moose alone!
Stop harassing them, chasing them in your little helicopter, etc.
The moose will come back on their own in due time!
Learn how to stop the invasion of Asian carp and zebra mussels. Keep them from our streams and lakes. We have to keep our air and water clean for the next generation and years to come.
