Learn the ancient art of T’ai Chi Chih through classes offered through Community Ed beginning in April.
The idea is to circulate/balance the Chi, vital energy within the body, through the meridian channels. It is an inner discipline of body, mind and spirit that consists of 19 movements and one pose that are easy to learn and can be done by most regardless of age or physical condition. It was originated by Justine Stone, a T’ai Chi Chuan Master, to offer people a series of fewer movements that would provide the same benefits as Tai Chi Chuan, with more immediate results. The benefits vary as each person receives what he or she needs, but include stress reduction, realization, improved balance, coordination, increased energy, management of pain and chronic conditions, weight management, increased creativity, mental clarity, harmony, an overall sense of well being and joy of life.
Classes will be held on Thursdays, April 14, 21, 28, and May 5, 12 and 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jane Mianowski Conference Center. Contact Community Ed for more information.
