Do we want a nation that bases its laws on what man thinks? Think about it, laws of man change like the wind. Like it or not, the laws put on the books by our forefathers were based on God’s law.
There are many examples the following is one: As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world’s lawgivers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view—it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments.
As I look back over the last few weeks, I see we have turned our backs on God and our forefathers. We as a state have spit in the face of God and said we don’t care that you said a union between a man and a woman is marriage, we are going to redefine it.
The new law says men can marry men or women can marry women. What’s next, man with two or three wives, a woman marrying her pet or maybe two men marrying three women? When we base our laws on anything other than moral absolutes, “the Bible,” we are absolutely going to fail as a nation.
The Boy Scouts have changed their stance on homosexuality; does that mean that as a Cub Scout leader I have to change mine? Absolutely not! Am I supposed to help the Scouts learn the Scout promise, “I promise to do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people and obey the law of the pack,” and at the same time condone what is sin?
What kind of message are we sending to young people about being brave when its top adult leaders don’t even have the courage to stand up to the pressure of a militant homosexual lobby in Washington, D.C., Hollywood or even some of their own renegade councils?
I will have to quit leading and pull my children from the Scouts. I call that personal conviction, but according to Jerry Hiniker, I’m a hypocrite?
