Larry Edward Dull, 59, passed away August 12, 2009 at the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Johnstown, PA on October 30, 1949 to Forrest Sr. and Florence Dull and moved to Chardon, OH with his family in 1955. He moved to Duluth in the 1980s where he owned the Yellow Cab Company for several years. He met and later married Barbara Johnson from Grand Marais.
Theymoved to Tucson, AZ in 2006 to care for her parents who are now deceased.
Larry was seriously dedicated to and active in AA and was very proud of his 10 years of sobriety. He was also on the Advisory Council for the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans and assisted many veterans in getting the services they needed to enable them to turn their lives around.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two nephews.
Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; stepchildren Rhonda (Dean) Mabry, Forest Lake MN, Daniel (Laura) Marks, Crystal, MN, and step-grandchildren, Aayla Anderson, Zackary and Joshua Mabry and Gabrielle and Camille Marks. He is also survived by six brothers Donald (Nancy), Van (Lynne), and Randy Dull, all of Chardon, OH, John Dull Sr., Burton, OH, and “bosom brother” Gregory Ridenour, Mentor-onthe Lake OH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Interment is at Veterans National Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Alcoholics Anonymous and/or the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, 102 Second Street, Duluth MN 55802 would be greatly appreciated.
