Cook County’s Knowledge Bowl teams continue to do well in competition, placing 3rd and 18th out of 86 regional teams, leading Knowledge Bowl Coach April Wahlstrom to proudly ask, “Aren’t our students amazing?”
Coach April Wahlstrom said the teams had their third regular meet on March 6. At that competition, they faced teams from larger schools such as Cloquet and Hibbing. The Cook County teams held their own and finished 1st and 5th.
Both teams advanced and at press time were preparing for the final regular season Knowledge Bowl tournament on March 21. Coach Wahlstrom said, “There they start with a clean slate and they will have to stay focused to make it to the state meet.”
They enter this tournament with one team ranked 2nd behind Marshall and in front of International Falls. Cook County’s second team is ranked 20th.
The top three teams go on to state.
