On Tuesday, March 20th the I.S.D. 166 high school regular Knowledge Bowl season finished with the regional tournament.

“Going into this tournament based on regular season meets we knew that our top team (Andy Kern, Leif Anderson, Amelia Roth, Adam Dorr, and Linnea Gesch) was in the hunt for a top three position, which would secure them a place at the state meet,” said head coach April Wahlstrom. “Our second team (Lance Bartol, Robin Henrikson, Sylvia Berka and Lyndon Blomberg) has also had a terrific season, often finishing in fourth or fifth place.”

Walhstrom said the day went well, and the scores were close.

“International Falls ended up finishing in first place and was followed by our top team in second place. The third team joining them at state will be a team from Marshall.

“Our second team finished in eighth place overall, which was a great place out of 24 teams. We will be traveling once again to the state tournament, which takes place over two days, April 12th and 13th at Craigan’s Resort in Brainerd, Minnesota.”
