Kelsey Rogers Kennedy has been promoted to Associate Director of Cook County Higher Education (CCHE). She adds the title to her current position of Program Director. At eight years, Rogers Kennedy holds the longest tenure of the current CCHE staff. Rogers Kennedy was hired as Educational Assistant in 2012. She became Program Coordinator in 2014 and Program Director in 2019. The CCHE Board of Directors recognizes the hard work and dedication that Rogers Kennedy brings to the organization and the importance of her institutional knowledge for the success of the operation.
As Associate Director, Rogers Kennedy will work closely with Executive Director Karen Blackburn to manage strategic responses to organizational challenges. The new title honors the critical roles Rogers Kennedy has played as counselor, advisor and strategic thought-partner for the Executive Director since Blackburn was hired three years ago.
Blackburn comments that “Kelsey is our history and our future. She listens to and understands the needs of our community’s employers and employees. She always has CCHE in her thoughts and makes connections at lightning speed that benefit everyone involved. Naming her Associate Director is acknowledging what she has been to this organization for years. I am so grateful to have her in my corner.”
Blackburn also adds, “An announcement featuring Kelsey and CCHE would be remiss if it did not include the following: If there are any programs or classes you need for yourself or your friends and family, please let Kelsey Rogers Kennedy know at programs@myCCHE.org!”
