Keeping warm at the Senior Center

Even in the dead of winter there is a lot going on at the Cook County Senior Center. Below is a list of activities that pretty much every senior could find at least one thing they would like to take part in. . Genealogy Group: We will dig a little deeper into census reports to help us track our ancestors. . Quilt Group: New class starting with a block a week quilt along, ending with a queen size quilt. . Valentine’s Day: Party at the Senior Center with Valentine Pictionary, Name that Love Song, and Guess who the love letters are from (the rich and famous). . Book Club: When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi . Technology Help: Interns from the high school will be here to help answer your questions about computers, iPads, cell phones, etc.

Cook County has a vibrant and active community of elders. Each week we offer Senior News to highlight our senior citizens. This week’s submission is about the Cook County Senior Center, courtesy of Programs and Service Coordinator Kim Nelson.
