I believe what Suzanne Davies wrote in the March 3 paper about gun control. I believe it should be a lot stricter for both young and old.
I remember when I was a young boy many years ago and my family lived alongside a cattle pasture. My dad had a .22 rifle he kept handy in case any birds flew into his many garden areas. One night I was sitting outside on the steps while my mother walked around with my younger sister and had my baby sister in a buggy.
I saw my dad’s rifle leaning on the step below me. I picked up the gun and aimed it at an apple on the tree. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. Next I aimed it at my mother and pulled the trigger again and nothing happened. I kept pulling the trigger as I aimed it time and time again at my two sisters and mother. Nothing happened.
Then I looked through the window and aimed it at my dad. The gun went off and the bullet went through two windows and nicked his ear. Lucky for my dad it just barely nicked his ear and didn’t bleed much.
That was the last time I picked up a gun until I joined the Marines. Kids should be kept away from guns until they are adults.
I only keep BB guns at my house.
