Only one girl from the Vikings’ slalom ski team made state this year and that was Kalina Dimitrova, a ninth grader.
Kalina was racing out of the 51st position out of 88 girls. The competition took place on Wednesday, March 10.
There were 16 teams from around the state that made the trip to Giant’s Ridge where the Minnesota High School League competition was held. Snow conditions were hard, and the day was warm.
We will have pictures and the full story about Kalina’s first trip to state, and a wrap up of the boys’ and girls’ ski season in next week’s edition.
