The Kakabeka Falls Legion half marathon and 8K races will be held on Sunday, August 19.
The course for the half marathon will be the same as last year. Participants start at the Kakabeka Falls Legion – then head east along a closed Trans Canada Highway – turning south down a closed Highway 588. Just before the Kaministiquia River Bridge runners will head west down Harstone Road until it intersects with Lucken’s Road, then traverse about 3 miles of rolling hills till they reach the Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park. After 4 kilometers in the Park the runners will head back to the Legion through the village of Kakabeka Falls.
Those participating in the inaugural 8K will also start at the Legion at the same time but will head the opposite direction to the village and then into the park, and then return to the Legion.
All proceeds go to the Kakabeka Falls branch of the Royal Canadian Legion to help them help our veterans and our community.
