Jurine Martha Fjare Schellberg – October 18, 1925 to March 11, 2013
Jurine Martha Fjare Schellberg, 87, joined her maker the evening of March 11, 2013 surrounded by her husband, five children and four of her grandchildren.
Jurine graduated from Ames High School and continued her education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota where she received a BS degree in philosophy, sociology, psychology, and biology. Advanced degree Masters of Social Work (MSW) was received from Columbia University, New York, NY in 1955.
Jurine retired as Social Worker Supervisor at Mayo Clinic, Rochester where she was assigned to the Liver Transplant Team. More importantly, she dedicated her life to service and the helping of others.
Jurine is survived by her husband Willis, along with five children Jenifer, Bruce, Steven, James, Beth and their spouses along with 10 grandchildren, preceded in death by her parents Gunder and Jane and siblings Milford, Lloyd, Gertrude, and Paul.
Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran in Hovland, MN this summer.
Jurine is a rare gem that will be dearly missed by friends and family. She was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, and friend to many. Our love for her is everlasting.
