In honor of the June, 1969 New York City Stonewall riot President Bill Clinton issued a Presidential Proclamation on June 11, 1999, stating that every June in America would be Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. In 2011, President Barak Obama officially expanded the June anniversary to include the whole LGBT community.

June 3: Drury Lane Full Moon LGBTQ literary slam and bonfire: Saturday, June 3, 6:00-8:00pm; Location: East Bay lakefront in front of Drury Lane Books in downtown Grand Marais
June 11: Congregational church service in the Harbor Park space with a visiting choir Sunday, June 11. More details to come.
June 16: LGBTQ2SIA+ Movie Night at the Library. June 16, 2023, at 7:00 PM. GLADD Media Awards recognize and honor media with outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. Join Grand Marais Public Library to watch a GLADD Media Award nominee or winner in an affirming space. Peruse other GLBTQIA+ materials available for checkout. The Film title will be announced at a later date.
