Judy Lynn Adams, 75, died among family Sunday, July 10, 2022, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from heart failure associated with ketoacidosis, a complication of diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
Judy was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Detroit Lakes, Minn., to Grant Vernon Terryll and Elsie Irene (Oxtra) Terryll. She and William (Bill) Harry Adams were married Dec. 17, 1966, in Durango, Colo. They and their three young daughters moved to Grand Marais, Minn., in 1977.
Judy was a devoted stay-at-home mom for many years in Grand Marais, where she was a Girl Scout leader, librarian and school volunteer, and enjoyed fishing and cross-country skiing.
Following Bill’s job as a U.S. immigration officer in 1984, the family moved to Elk Grove, Calif. They moved back to Minnesota in 1989, settling in Lakeville, where they resided for 32 years. During this time, Judy was a Legal Instruments Examiner for the Migratory Bird Permit Program of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She was proud of her work protecting wildlife.
This past year, Judy and Bill had moved to Omaha, where Bill was born, and the home of many family members.
Judy will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Bill; daughters Beverly (Jon) Godfrey of Duluth, Minn., Lisa (Ron) Medina of Omaha, and Sara (Eric) Adams-Prior of Richfield, Minn.; brother Stanley Terryll of Bradenton, Florida; sister Susan (Terry) Stephenson of Detroit Lakes; and grandchildren Graham, Cora, Paige and Duncan Godfrey; Arraya and Adam Medina; Heather Adams-Prior; and a large extended family.
Judy will be interred at Omaha National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the fall. Arrangements by Kremer Funeral Home, 402-553-3155.
