After winning its first two play-off games in the Jt. Legion playoffs the Cook County/Silver Bay Junior Legion team was soundly beaten by Esko 13-0.
The game was played in Proctor on Tuesday, July 26.
With the loss the Vikings fall to the loser’s bracket. One more loss ends their tournament hopes.
The game against Esko was delayed by rain and ended at 11 p.m. The contest was called after five innings because of the ten-run mercy rule.
Jake Stadler, Amos Falter and Jake Mixdorf were the only Vikings to get a hit in the game.
Benelli Myers started on the mound for the Vikings. He pitched three innings, allowing 12 runs off of five hits and striking out three. Jake Mixdorf came in off the bench and pitched one inning. He gave up one run off one hit.
J Peterson took the win for Esko. The hurler pitched five shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight.
The Vikings played on Wednesday after press. The results will be posted in the paper next week.
