“A satisfying and amazing life to be free from dogma” is Lou Jenson’s “joy in life.” As I understand this subject, the dogma and doctrines of Atheism deny the existence of any god or supernatural activities since there is no full evidence supporting these claims by Christians. Using this same standard, neither have Atheists proved that God does not exist.
Lou’s personal dogma is directed at Peter Monkres for encouraging us to imitate Christ and at Dale McIntire for his affirmation that Jesus “shows us who God is and what we can be and do through faith in him.” These are not bad things to share with Cook County. Yet Lou associates “myth,” “fairytales,” “imaginary friend” and “nonexistent” with Jesus, but to what “good” purposes I do not know.
Flavius Josephus, the first century historian noted for his accuracy, mentions that “Jesus was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.” So much for Jesus being an imaginary person.
Another doctrine or dogma is that since there is no God, there is no right nor wrong, and human action is neither good nor bad, but merely convenient or inconvenient, and should be a matter of personal decision by “good” individuals for what is in the best interest of society. Full evidence and irrefutable proof are My guide I shall never be deceived as other men
My intellect and reason have freed me from superstition So that I rejoice in the satisfying and amazing life I lead.
This freedom has made me the complete man who can clearly see the right paths for my neighbors to take, and I shall gently lead them by asking what might be considered hard questions to make them aware of why they are going in the wrong directions.
I do not fear what happens after death, for in death I shall cease to exist. It is only the comfort and support of the community now that is real. Souls, spirits and all else are myths, fairy tales, and wishful thinking of the weak.
When I confront my opponents, my table is full and theirs is empty, for they are dominated by fear, tradition and dogma, and they crumble under careful scrutiny.
Surely calling their god cruel, manipulative, and non-existent shall sustain me with joy all the days of my life. I shall dwell in my house in Cook County till I die.
