Joyce M. Kehoe, 85, Grand Marais, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in the Cook County North Shore Care Center.
She was born to Oswald and Lizzie (Erickson) Haugen in Aitkin, Minnesota where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1948. She then attended Registered Nurses Assistant training, was married and enjoyed raising her four children. She moved to Schroeder on the North Shore and enjoyed life, church at Zoar Lutheran and her many friends. She lived in Schroeder for 50 years before moving to Grand Marais in 2005.
Joyce was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Eastern Star since 1964, and the Grand Marais Garden Club. Joyce enjoyed life because the Lord was in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, John; and brother, Kenneth.
Joyce is survived by her sons and daughter Jim (Cindy) Kehoe of Phoenix, Jeffery Kehoe of Dayton, Ohio and Joanne (Brian) Smith of Grand Marais; brother Harold (Nancy) Haugen of Roseville, sister-inlaw Marge Haugen of Aitkin, special aunt Emma Roberts of Milton, Washington, grandchildren John, Todd (Geri), Lacey, Melanie (Mathew Olsen), Alina, Jonas, Daniel, and Quincie and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais. Burial will be at Tofte Cemetery. To sign the online guestbook please visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
