Joshua Lee Jahnke


 

 

Joshua Lee Jahnke, age 37, of Blue Earth, passed away August 16, 2019 at his sister’s home surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Josh will be held at 11 a.m. on October 5, 2019 at Patton Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Jacobsen officiating. A time for visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the Celebration of Life service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Josh was born on December 21, 1981 in Mankato, Minn. to Lee and Kim (Olson) Jahnke. He received his education from Blue Earth Area High School, graduating in 2001. In October 2011, Josh was united in marriage to Heidi Tjelle. The couple resided in Buffalo Center, Iowa. His passions in life included: watching the Vikings, Hawkeyes, and Twins, hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family. Josh loved all outdoor sports. He also loved playing video games with his nephews.

He is survived by his children, Hayley Jahnke of Blue Earth, Bruk Sonnickson of Blue Earth, and Maci Ludewig of Buffalo Center, Iowa; parents, Lee and Kim; sister, Alicia (Shaun) Ober; nephews, Tridyn, Ian, and Preston Ober; aunt, Paula Snyder; uncles, Dean (Sue) Jahnke, Randy (Robin) Olson, Jeff Olson, Jay Olson, and Chad Olson; grandparents, Lorman “Bub” and Beverly Jahnke, Neil and Mary Jane Taylor; and many cousins and extended family.

Josh was preceded in death by his uncle, Mark Snyder; grandparents, Dennis and Mavis Olson; and great-grandparents, Fred and Eunice Reiffer, Florence LaMont, and Curtis and Selma Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his parents, Lee and Kim Jahnke and his sister, Alicia Ober.
