Joseph Chaskay Einberger, Zit-Kada- Sha, “Handsome,” 18, of Carlton and Prairie Island, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2014.

He was born August 23, 1996, in Red Wing, to Jeffrey Einberger and Cheryl Taylor. Joe grew up and attended schools in both Red Wing and Grand Portage, Minnesota. He loved spending time outdoors— whether it was fishing, dirt biking, snowmobiling, skateboarding, or snowboarding. He also enjoyed cross-country trucking with his dad. Joe will be remembered for his ability to put a smile on your face, always joking and clowning around, and for his big heart, of which his nieces and nephews were dear to.

Joe is survived by his parents, Jeff Einberger Sr. of Carlton and Cheryl Taylor of Prairie Island; siblings, Jeffrey Jr., Justice and Teanna Einberger, Darren and Brandon Einberger and Keisha Goranson; paternal grandparents, Jeff (Brenda) Einberger of Grantsburg, Wisconsin and Mary Lou Spanyard of Ellsworth; maternal grandparents, George (Sue) Taylor of Red Wing and Cheryl (Edmund Two Stars) Spider of Peever, South Dakota; his girlfriend, Jurnee Hopfauf of Woodbury and his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at the Prairie Island Community Center. A visitation will begin on Sunday evening, October 5, 2014 and will continue until the time of the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Church of the Messiah Cemetery.
