Johnson will work to protect freedoms

On Tuesday September 29, voters in Minnesota House District 3A have a choice to make in replacing David Dill. Dave served this area well and will be greatly missed.

Eric Johnson from International Falls is running on the DFL ticket and has pledged to be a moderate Democrat and will work like Mr. Dill on both sides of the aisle to get legislation passed to benefit all people in Northeastern Minnesota.

Eric Johnson is a strong supporter of mining, logging, ATV and snowmobile trails. PolyMet and Twin Metals must move forward providing good and wellpaying jobs. He will support the preservation of public land for outdoor recreation, hunting and fishing rights, and the rights of snowmobilers and ATV riders.

Eric will work to maintain and increase aid to cities and townships.

In 1964, Congress passed the Wilderness Act. This legislation mandates that where School Trust Lands are surrounded by designated wilderness, that those lands cannot be sold but only exchanged acre for acre. There are about 122,247 acres in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) in state ownership. Of this, approximately 93,260 of these are Trust Lands. The U.S. Forest Service is attempting to buy 56,295 acres illegally. This would result in a huge loss of economic benefits for Minnesota schools. Eric Johnson will fight to maintain the 1964 Act and ensure that all lands are exchanged and not sold.

I have traveled with Eric Johnson the past few weeks. We met many of you. We have listened to your concerns. Eric will represent you well. Your vote in this primary election is imperative to maintain our freedoms, our rights, and our future. Please vote Eric Johnson.
