Johnson recognized in Lake Superior Magazine photo contest

Frequent Cook County News-Herald contributor David R. Johnson of Grand Marais has been recognized for his wonderful photography—for this photo of a moose cow and calves specifically—by Lake Superior Magazine.

Grand Marais photographer David Johnson earned an Honorable Mention in Lake Superior Magazine’s 20th annual Lake Superior Photo Contest, one of 32 winning images chosen from a field of nearly 1,400. The top winners were announced in the February/March issue of the magazine and additional finalists are featured at www.LakeSuperior.com.

David’s photo, honored in the Nature category, captured a trio of moose on the Gunflint Trail.

The February/March issue is available on Lake Superior-region newsstands and for purchase online. It features the 24 winning images in the categories of Lake/Landscape, People/Humor, Nature and Artsy/ Altered.
