John Christian Torseth, 95, passed away peacefully July 30, 2019 at home in Rio Verde, Arizona.
As an architect with ATS&R in Minneapolis, John designed many churches and schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He was co-owner of Spruce Falls, a resort on Lake Superior, and loved the time spent in the home he designed on Cascade Beach Road.
Survivors include: wife, Julie Torseth, Rio Verde, Arizona, John W. Torseth (Nancy) and sons Jack and Alex, Desert Ridge, Arizona, and Ann Torseth, St. Paul, Minnesota. Surviving siblings are Delores Hodgson, St. Paul, Minnesota, Arthur (Joanne) Torseth, Maplewood, Minnesota, and James (Cara) Torseth, Stillwater, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Alvillda Torseth, wife Corinne, brother Tom Torseth and wife Beverly, brother-in-law Dick Hodgson, and his son Todd.
A memorial service is planned for September 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp in Houlton, Wisconsin with lunch following. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Northern Star Scouting on behalf of the Scout Camp, to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, or to Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston, Kansas.
