Jesus not just a human being

I am writing in regard to last week’s letter to the editor in response to Mitch Dorr’s December 12 column Superstar athletes are not gods.
I agree that we are not to idolize any person; every human being is fallible. Jesus, however, was not just a human being, He was God in the flesh, and He said, “TheFather and I are One.” Jesus said in John 14:6: “I Am the Way, TheTruth and TheLife; no man comes unto the Father but by Me.”

Theway is narrow: He is TheWay, the invitation is broad: “Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” We surely are to worship Him.

It was heartening to hear Brit Hume urging Tiger Woods to look to Jesus, Who alone offers forgiveness and redemption from sin.

Romans 14:9 “One day every knee will bow, in Heaven and earth, and every man confess that Jesus is God.” Jesus Christ is the only one who died for the sins of the whole world. His grave is empty; over 500 people saw him after He rose from the dead, and before He ascended into Heaven.

And He is coming again! The first time He came as a humble Servant, riding on a donkey. His Second Coming will be as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What we do with Jesus is the most important decision we will ever make.
