Jeffrey Joel Putrah, 57, died at his home April 15, 2015.
Jeff was born September 8, 1957 in Mankato to Dean and Violet (Bergemann) Putrah. He grew up on the family farm in rural Good Thunder. In 1976, he graduated from Wellcome Memorial High School in Garden City. After high school, he worked with his father on the family farm.
At a young age, Jeff had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to spend many hours on the slopes of Mount Kato, where he started working as a teen. He continued his employment for many years at Mount Kato, serving as general manager for the past nine years.
He loved to go hunting with his father, nephews and friends in rural Good Thunder. His home away from home was in Grand Marais. Jeff was people oriented; always telling stories and making new friends. You could often find Jeff laughing so hard, he’d start to cry.
Jeff will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends and co-workers in the Mankato and Grand Marais area.
Jeff is survived by his sons, Jesse (Kelly) Putrah and their children, Harley and Dakota of California; Sam Putrah of Mankato; sister, Terri (Kevin) Karau of Amboy; nephews, Brandon and his daughter, Brezlyn, Brady (Heather), and Levi; many friends and others who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin siblings, Vicki and Perry.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, April 18, 2015 at
Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
