We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Jeannine Swearingen (Potvin), 76, of Grand Marais, on July 14th, 2022, at the North Shore Hospital, from a short battle with cancer. She was born in Brainerd Minnesota on February 13, 1946, to Norris and Beatrice (Murray) Potvin. She married Robert Swearingen on September 21st, 1963. They had 3 children, Paul, Kathi and Shawn. They blessed her with 7 grandchildren, CoLee, Skyler and Clay Johnson, JoLee, Randee and Lacey Swearingen and Nicole Berthiume, and some great grandchildren.
She grew up and was married in Brainerd, Minnesota where she raised her children there until 1977, then moved to Ryden’s Border for a few years and then sadly had to move to Plymouth, Minnesota for a few years before finally retiring to Hovland and Grand Marais in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norris and mother, Beatrice and 2 siblings, Darwin and Betty Potvin.
She is survived by her 3 children, Paul (Terese), Shawn (Kelly) and Kathi (Rusty) Johnson.
She enjoyed family gatherings, especially deer hunting season.
There will be a private family interment at a date yet to be determined.
