Jeanne Ledue Lindell,

80, our social butterfly, traded her butterfly wings for angel wings on February 10, 2014 in Green Valley, Arizona. She lost a battle with a rare form of lung cancer. The story of her journey is chronicled on Caring Bridge. (www.caringbridge.com, visit site: Jeanne Lindell)

Jeanne was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to M.F. “Duke” and Bernice Ledue and lived in Minneapolis, Hibbing, and Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1951. She went on to attend Macalester College and the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1955.

Jeanne worked as a buyer at Powers Department Store, then as a secretary at Farnham Office Furniture. Being a mother brought her home to work. She and her friend Rosie MacLachlan spent many years buying and refurbishing old stuff and selling antiques as Country Lane Antiques in Wayzata, Minnesota.

Jeanne was an active sister in Alpha Chi Omega and P.E.O. for as long as she was able and those sisters, as well as her many special friends, have rallied and provided wonderful support to her during her battle with cancer.

Jeanne was born to be a social butterfly who embraced everyone she came in contact with as a “best friend” once she had learned all about them and their family. If there was a party, cause, or friend in need, she was there, caring and sharing. She was a gracious host and entertainer and enjoyed worldwide travels and adventures with family and friends.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Lindell, and children Judy Earling, Steve Lindell (wife Christy Eliasen Lindell), and Tommy Lindell, by her sister Karen (husband John) Krueger and their family, and by grandchildren Mia and Berit Lindell and Alexa Earling.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mayo Clinic-Rochester for their excellent, prompt action in April which gave her six months before the bad stuff returned and the wonderful team at La Hacienda Assisted Living who have treated Jeanne and all of us with tender loving care.

At her request, a celebration of Jeanne’s life was held in Green Valley, Arizona on January 11, 2014 and a memorial service will be held on June 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Wayzata, Minnesota at Wayzata Community Church.
