Jean R. Sandstrom, age 76, of St. Paul, died peacefully on April 16, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home.
Jean was born on February 8, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Theodore and Hazel (Seglem) Sandstrom. She attended Cook County High School in Grand Marais and graduated with the Class of 1960. Jean was united in marriage to John Bloomberg and together they were blessed with two children, Phillip and Gayle. This union would later be dissolved. Jean worked as an office manager for Northwest Keypunch until her retirement.
Jean was an avid reader and an excellent cook. She enjoyed being out in the woods surrounded by nature. Jean enjoyed the beauty of rocks, especially the agates that she would find. She took pride in the town of Lutsen and treasured her time spent there.
Jean will remain in the hearts of her nieces, Julie (Mike) Thelen, Jennifer Erickson; nephew, Todd Erickson; as well as other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her children, Phillip and Gayle Bloomberg; her parents, Theodore and Hazel Sandstrom; and her sister, Marcia (Roger) Erickson.
A graveside service for Jean will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Lutsen Cemetery in Lutsen. Funeral and cremation services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, Wis.
