Jean Horner Dailey,
96, White Bear Lake, MN, passed away on December 8, 2012.
She was born in St. Paul, MN on April 21, 1916 to Stirling and Grace Horner. She attended Oak Hall School for Girls and graduated from the University of Minnesota.
She married in 1941 and lived for many years at Marine on St. Croix. She and her husband were part owners and operators of Northwest Plastics in St. Paul before moving to Grand Marais, as owners of Sea Gull Lodge on the Gunflint Trail.
Jean moved back to the Twin City area in 1967 where she worked as an accountant in the Education Department at the University of Minnesota.
She had a wide variety of interests and talents. She spent many hours at her easel creating lovely oil and water color paintings. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and sewing as well as traveling and playing golf with her sister, Hope, until the age of 94.
She lived independently at her townhouse in White Bear until November of this year.
Jean is survived by son Chip (Betty) Dailey; daughter, Heather (Fred) Derewenko; granddaughters Deanna (Joe) Bruneau, Rene’ Dailey (Ross Harrison) and great-granddaughter Teagan Harrison.
She was overjoyed at the recent news that there would be two more greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter Jill Swor; sister Hope Henderson and brother Jack Horner.
A Celebration of Life for Jean will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
