First, I would like to thank everyone who voted for me and supported me in my run for County Commissioner District 2. While I am sad to not be able to serve my district as commissioner, I do not feel disheartened. This is because I am confident that Commissioner Myron Bursheim will do a great job representing District 2 with the same caring and compassionate kindness that he has shown for the last four years.
Commissioner Bursheim was one of the first people I met when my family first relocated to Grand Marais. He made us feel very welcomed. He is someone I saw around town frequently in the pre-COVID-19 days. He seemed to always find time to attend community gatherings, even when they had nothing to do with his role as commissioner. He is a true member of the community and aware of what the community needs.
In these troublesome times, as we begin to deal with the repercussions that will come from the global COVID-19 pandemic, I feel Commissioner Bursheim has the experience needed to serve the community with confidence and act as a voice of reason. I have always said that my reason for running for the seat had nothing to do with the job I felt he has been doing, and I support Myron, always have. I encourage those who voted for me to consider casting a vote for Commissioner Myron Bursheim.
