Senior Essa Jacobsen
was one of 10 Class A girls’ basketball players to be selected to the Minnesota High School All-Star Basketball Series. Each year 10 girls from the 160 Class A schools are selected to participate in the Minnesota All-Star Basketball Series. Jacobsen is the second girl from Cook County ever selected for this award. The first was Malinda Berglund, who played in the All- Star series in 2002.
Jacobsen is currently ranked in ninth place in career rebounding in the state of Minnesota with 1,444 career rebounds in her 102 varsity games. Behind only Berglund, Jacobsen is Cook County’s second leading scorer in girls’ basketball with 1,249 points. Jacobsen is also ranked sixth on the all-time list for assists, third in steals, and she is the school’s all-time shot blocking leader with 110 career blocks.
