It takes a lot to keep rolling

Another Fisherman’s Picnic has gone by and the YMCA North Shore Rollers had another successful Minnesota State Tournament. We had a tremendous turnout again with an Elite women’s tournament at the end of the day.

We could not have done any of this without the help of the following businesses and people. So a huge thank you to Northstar Cabling, Studio 61 Hair Design, Grand Marais Lions Club, Glenn Peterson Construction, Timberwolff Realty, Steve’s Sports, Coldwell Banker North Shore, Arrowhead Pharmacy, Lutsen Mountains, Security State Bank, North Coast Towing, Sven & Ole’s Pizza and the Grand Marais Fire Department.

Thank you to Niel and Jenny Atkinson for the use of the tank year after year and Jenny for emceeing the event. A huge thank you to Jenny for bringing this sport to the community for these kids.

To the parents that travel and take their vacations up here and help us make the tournament go so smoothly (a lot of behind the scenes goes on to make this tournament happen), so thank you Amanda and Dave Plummer, Silvi Duclos, Todd and Denise Diethart, Richard and Shayna Magnone, Joanie Davenport, Chris and Jennifer Serpico, and Jeff Koblitz.

And last but not least, it was great to have the Elite women roll in this tournament so thank you to Jenny Atkinson, Ellie Davenport, Katie Rick, and Brenda Boyko for traveling all this way. We look forward to seeing you all and more next year!
